Last month Dvora performed with the Max Vax Trio in Hannover and Hamburg (Germany) and recieved quite favourable reviews in the newspapers:
... weil jetzt mit Dvora Davis eine Sangerin den Platz im Rampenlicht einnimmt, die im Kontrast zu dem Begleittrio in den perfekt sitzenden Anzugen mit ihren gëfärbten Afro-Locken wie ein Paradiesvogel anmutet. Eher defensiv verhält sich das im ersten Set noch aufgedreht wïrkende Vax Trio...
... Das andert sich mit Dvora Davis, in Amsterdam lebender Sängerin und Songwriterin. Ihre warme, dynamische Stimme und jazzsoulige Nummern wie 'One Night Stand', 'Cazy for Love' und 'My Man's Gone' gehen direkt in den Kopf und von dort runter in die Beine. lm Jazz-Club unten wird nun munter gewippt...
Dvora is currently finishing a new album which is a collaboration with her song writing partner, Jochem Julius Braat, a young, creative and very talented pianist, composer and arranger. The album called 'A Simple Affair' taken from the title of one of their songs, is a stunning and dynamic collection with many different jazz feels, from modern to beautiful standards. The songs are on love, relationships and people.
Dvora Davis and Jochem Julius Braat are a superb combination, Dvora say's, ' I am stunned we come together and there is this explosion of creativity. Finding the right person to work is never easy in music...we're blessed'.

On Tuesday 28th of November 2006, Dvora Davis performed again in a packed Parool Theater with a new show, purely consisting of original songs and with a new band.
If you are now and again in the Paradiso as a well known artist, then you will always create your own paradiso, thats exactly what Dvora did for the second time in a packed house at parool theater.
There was a great atmosphere and tension from the audience they felt they were about to hear something good and good it was! Davis presented a clever program that consisted of songs she composed as well as wrote the lyrics for....
On her website she also presents a complete real book of regular songs and this sure gives evidence of her daring attitude - and yesterday evening she substantiated to be able to conquer her audience with her own productions. Soon they will be released on her new album 'Open Book'
The musicians Santeri Sulkunen, Lars Bauer, Michael Rorby and Juri Cainero, were tasteful and worked hard without showing off. The presentation was great. The performance was outstanding, Davis was stunning in gold with orange and black and her charisma and radience superior.... She needs no stylist.
The beautiful song 'Colourful Man' was a ballad in Dylan Style with an obviuos poppy accent in the second half and 'Let Me Love You' was a song she could easily sell to the Everly Brothers, not implying that her interpretation was not right: the Chet Atkins effect on the guitar parts was Everly like. The other songs all stood out with their own strength.
The last song before the intermission was Hey. The audience response was immediate: Hey! it really became a concert too big for this small stage.
Dinsdag 28 november 2006 trad Dvora opnieuw op in het gezellige, overvolle 'Parool Theater'. Met een nieuwe repertoire van eigen songs en met een nieuwe band...
On Thursday April 14th 2005 Dvora performed in the Amsterdam 'Parool Theater' with an enthusiastic review in the newspaper 'Het Parool'.
... That night around nine... The Concert... Yes, spelled in capitals, because it was a musical event to remember. What a voice, what great musicians and especially, what a performance. 'Summertime' was the first song of Dvora Davis which left her audience spellbound and her last one too - long after 11 PM - happened to be a great Porgy & Bess classic: 'I love you Porgy'.
At the start of her concert Dvora did promise a 'celebration of voice'. With standards like 'You don't know what love is', 'Caravan', 'Night and day' and 'Love for sale', but also with songs from her own repertoire, because she is not just a singer, but also a songwriter. Some latin, 'some real deep blues' and lovesongs, it's really all there.
... The audience couldn't get enough of her but even this fine musical party had to end. But one thing became very clear: 'Dvora Davis is here to stay'...
Op donderdag 14 april 2005 trad Dvora op in het Amsterdamse 'Parool Theater' en dit optreden kreeg een enthousiaste bespreking in de krant:
Dvora Davis in een bomvolle zaal
Het was een hectisch avondje in Het Parooltheater. Zo viel Joop Braakhekke even binnen om een kijkje te nemen, voordat hij dinsdag het publiek zal komen trakteren op (culinaire) verhalen en verrassingen. En terwijl hij nog in de weer was met de cd-speler, arriveerde de ster van gisteravond: jazz-zangeres Dvora Davis. Langzaamaan druppelden ook haar musici binnen. Niet twee, zoals ze had aangekondigd, maar wel vier.
En ja, het paste - als altijd - weer op de vierkante centimeter. Dvora, haar trompettist, saxofonist en percussionist op het podium, de pianist ervoor. Even leek het overigens wel de dertiende, in plaats van een dag later. De geluidsinstallatie gaf om onduidelijke redenen geen geluid en op de valreep rukte men uit voor een nieuwe. De vedette bleef kalm. En ondertussen liep de zaal meer dan bomvol. Men zat, stond, hing en een aantal laatkomers had pech. Ze konden, en mochten, er echt niet meer in.
En toen was er, iets na negenen, dan Het Concert. Ja, in hoofdletters, want het was een memorabele muzikale avond. Wat een stem, wat een musici en - zeker ook - wat een performance. 'Summertime' was de eerste song waarmee Dvora Davis het publiek à la minute aan zich wist te binden. Ook haar allerlaatste nummer, ver over elf uur, kwam uit de klassieker Porgy & Bess: 'I love you Porgy'.
Een 'celebration of voice' moest het worden, zo beloofde Dvora het publiek op voorhand. Met standards als 'You don't now what love is', 'Caravan', 'Night and Day' en 'Love for Sale', maar ook met eigen repertoire. Want Dvora zingt niet alleen, ze is ook nog songwriter. Een beetje latin, 'some real deep blues', lovesongs: de zangeres draaide er haar hand niet voor om.
Ze mag dan misschien geen enorme bekendheid genieten bij het grote publiek, ze is wel degelijk een jazzdame met een fikse staat van dienst. Ze werkte als producer bij een klein label, trad op met jazz-idolen als Jamie Cullum en - aldus haar beknopte bio - 'she brought the house down as she always does'. Niets om gelogen, zo bleek ook gisteren. Ze woonde een poos in Spanje, toerde met een eigen band door het buitenland maar 'now she is back at home to stay!'
Het doel dat haar voor ogen staat? Veel optreden, een publiek dat 'om meer' vraagt, een toer door Nederland en Europa en, uiteindelijk, een eigen jazzorkest. Met de mannen met wie ze gisteren speelde, klonk het overigens ook als een klok. Zo waagde Dvora zich ook aan een aantal songs uit het repertoire van Billie Holiday en Ella Fitzgerald. En met haar diepe stem en Fitzgerald-achtige improvisaties werd het een enerverend muzikaal feestje.
Na afloop had het publiek er eigenlijk nog geen genoeg van. Maar het was niet anders. Een ding was echter overduidelijk geworden: 'Dvora is here to stay'.
